1. Programming Mode

  • Step 1: Press the [PROGRAM] button on the front panel to enter Programming Mode.
  • Note: Once in programming mode, you can use the number buttons and codes to program the Verbatim.

Programming Phone Numbers

  • Add a "1" before the phone number if it is a cell phone or long-distance

Adding or Changing  Phone Numbers

  1. 701 * 1-555-5555 Enter → Saves to 1st phone number slot
  2. 702 * 1-555-5555 Enter → Saves to 2nd phone number slot
  3. Continue the pattern for additional numbers.
  4. If you need to update a phone number, just enter the new number using the same code as the original. It will automatically replace the old number with the new one.

Notification Method. 

 Note: Adding phone numbers for the catalyst is a 2 step process.  Because the Catalyst has different notification methods besides phone calls, you will have to add the notification method for each of the numbers in each slot. After you add the phone number you have to program that number for OTP [ Over the phone ]

  1. 711 * 1 Enter  → Sets Phone 1 to OTP [ Over the phone ]
  2. 712 * 1 Enter  → Sets Phone 1 to OTP [ Over the phone ]
  3. Continue the pattern for additional numbers.

2.  Recording Alarm Messages

  • After entering the code, wait for the prompt.
  • Press and hold the record button to record the message.
  • Release the record button when done, and the message will play back.

Recording Codes

  • 100 *  Enter → Records the Station ID
  • 101 * Enter → Records Alarm Message 1
  • 102 * Enter → Records Alarm Message 2
  • Continue for additional messages.
  • If you need to change a recording, use the same code and it will overwrite the previous recording

For Everything Else use Alarmware. 

  1. No Power:
  1. Verify 12V DC power input.
  2. Check the fuse.

  1. Cannot Connect to Alarmware:
  1. Ensure the customer is using a USB-to-serial null modem cable.
  2. Under Settings Set the Baud rate in Alarmware software to 57600.
  3. Use Device Manager to verify the COM port.

  1. Cannot connect to Modbus from Serial Port. 
  1. Verify the cable connection for Transmit and Receive.
  2. Check the LED indicators on the serial port:
    • They should not be lit when there's no connection.

  1. Cannot connect through Ethernet IP:
  1. Run the RACO IP Configuration Tool to ensure the correct IP address is set.
  2. Right-click the IP address and disable DHCP, setting it to Static to prevent the network from reassigning a new IP.
  3. Only one connection is allowed at a time.
  4. Check if there are too many connections already on the network.
  5. Verify the Ethernet connection in Alarmware by entering 1*2*01992
