I have two AlarmAgent RTUs and both have a basetime of 8am. One RTU always reports a few minutes before 8am and the other RTU always reports a few minutes after 8am. Can you explain why this is happening?
To avoid too many RTUs reporting at the same time, the AlarmAgent RTU will use the it's mobile device number and an algorithm to create a skew offset. The skew offset will remain the same each day, for each particular RTU.
The basetime can be skewed up to 7 and a half minutes before or no more than 7 and a half minutes after the configured basetime.
Watchdog timers take this offset into account when checking for missed reports.
