      Calculating the amount of memory to reserve for Log File data

      How do I calculate the amount of memory that I should reserve for Log File data?

      The size of the reserve is controlled by the following factors:

      • Amount of NVRAM installed,
      • The number of channels sampled,
      • The frequency of data sampling,
      • The number of hours between log file transfers.

      The utility CatalystMemoryAllocationTool.xls (included on the Catalyst CD) is designed to help navigate you through the calculation process.
