Can I move my AlarmAgent RTU from its present location to a new location?
Yes.
Generally, there is no problem moving an RTU from one location to another. AlarmAgent RTUs will communicate with the closest tower it can locate. Obviously, the new location should have a good signal (40% signal strength or better) or poor communications can result. Poor communications can cause nuisance watchdog alarms.
Important Note: If the unit will be stored at the new location for any length of time without being placed into service, it is important to remember to move the battery disconnect jumper to the storage position so the RTU battery will be protected from discharging to unrecoverable levels.
