What information will be lost if there is a power failure and the battery is drained?
The Catalyst configuration settings are saved in NVRAM (non-volatile RAM), so your configuration information is not at risk. When the Catalyst senses that it does not have enough power to continue to operate properly, it will execute a routine that will save the following information to NVRAM:
- Arm/Disarm State
- TOD clock
- Diagnostic Statistics and Counts
- Channel Values
- Channel State
- Last Scan Error
- Time of Last Scan Error
